Bettye Jean Frye Wirt was born on July 29, 1943 in Salisbury, North Carolina. She passed away quietly in the company of friends and family on March 16, 2018.

Bettye was preceded by her husband, Bob

and her siblings Ruth, Everett, Carl and Francis. She is survived by her sister, Polly, her brother, Cecil, her first husband, Fred and her step-daughter Debbie, her step-daughters from Bob: Dawn, Rebecca and Michele, numerous nieces and nephews and six grandchildren.

Bettye grew up in the Mills Home Orphanage in Thomasville, NC. She was known for her friendliness, her love of laughter and her diving skills. On days when Bettye would dive, everyone turned out to the pool to watch her graceful, awe-inspiring moves.

Bettye graduated from Wingate College. In her professional life, she and Bob successfully ran Head Start Vitamins for more than forty years.

As a survivor of lung cancer for over twelve years, Bettye's positive mind-set and her cheery outlook were an inspiration to all who knew her. Bettye is missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
