On the morning of March 29, 2022, David Lee Radliff passed away peacefully while surrounded by family. He was 82 years old and lived a full life, remembered by many. On March 03, 1939, David was born to Wilbur Ray Radliff and Iola Radliff née Stemple. He was a preacher’s son and came from a small town in North Dakota. A devoted family man, he was married to his wife, Irma Radliff, for almost 63 years. He was a loving father who helped raise three bright, successful children. He passed onto them his witty sense of humor, appreciation of craftsmanship, and love of music. David spent some time working for the forestry service before going back to school. While raising his children, he earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Afterwards, he worked as a Production and Project Engineer in the paper industry. A gifted and creative individual, David was an accomplished musician. He sang in choirs and was able to play almost any instrument put in front of him. Some of his favorite instruments were the accordion and organ. Combining his skilled craftsmanship and love of music, he spent many years tuning and rebuilding pianos. He even assembled a harpsichord for his church where he was active and served some time as an elder. He was a vibrant member of his social community, and especially loved being part of the Elks club. He played the organ for lodge ceremonies, dinners, and many other events. He often played music by Frank Sinatra, among other lively jazz songs. In his later years, he and Irma retired to Florida. He played golf almost every day and continued playing the organ. He enjoyed bridge, traveled on cruises, and visited friends and family. His keen intellect and singular wit were ever present. David was kind, patient, and creative. While he will be dearly missed, his memory is a blessing to those he loved. David Lee Radliff was preceded in death by Wilber (father), Iola (mother), and Julie (daughter). He is survived by Irma (wife), Mark and Michelle (son and daughter-in-law), David (son), Tom (son-in-law), and five grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, April 04, 2022.
