Agnes Lucille O'Malley was born August 6, 1915 in De Graff, Minnesota, the daughter of Linus B. and Cora E. (Heckart) Saunders. She was baptized at St. Bridgets Catholic Church in DeGraff. Agnes grew up on a farm in rural Benson, and attended country school through the eighth grade. On June 30, 1939, Agnes was united in marriage to Martin 'Ted' O'Malley in Murdock. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage and three children. Agnes spent her time taking care of the home and raising the children. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Benson and the Women's Group there. Among the things she enjoyed were crocheting, embroidery, canning, sewing, quilting, and dogs. She especially enjoyed the company of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Agnes was called from this life on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Benson. She attained the age of 96 years, 1 month and 26 days. Agnes is survived by her children: Mary Lou (John) Amundson of Rice, and Chuck (Sheryl) O'Malley of Benson; daughter-in-law, Judy O'Malley of Danvers; seven grandchildren: Suzanne Amundson, Shannon Amundson-Knittel, Kathleen Dando, Pat O'Malley, Corey Moe, Travis Moe and Brent Moe; eight great-grandchildren; sisters: Marjorie Wakeman of Greeley, CO and Betty (Len) Bauman of Duluth; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Saunders of Benson; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband Martin in 1981; a son Bob O'Malley in 1996; a grandson, Ted Amundson in 2000; her parents; two brothers: John and James Saunders; and four sisters: Eleanore Kvam, Veronica French, Mary Dalman, and Bernice Kelso.
