Obituary

Everybody has a story that deserves to be told
and preserved, and what a story Al has left us.
It is one that we'd like to share with anyone who
was ever has crossed paths with him.

It all started back on September 13, 1942
in White Plains, New York.
His name was chosen after his father,
born to Elizabeth Griem who was
married to Albert Drake Alderman.

Al was the first of four children born to
Drake and Elizabeth; his sibblings were
Elsie (Alderman) Kapteina; Helen (Alderman) Collen,
and Douglas Alderman and
3 half siblings, Kathy, Jackie, and Larry.

Al loved being the patriarch of the Alderman Family
and referred lovingly as the "Big Al" and "the King".

Al attended Stamford High School Class of 1960
and attended University of Bridgeport.
Starting with CBS in CT and was transferred to Pennsylvania in 1971.
He had a passion for civic duty which included:
Skippack Fire House (station 86, lifetime member,
past President, and Chief Engineer), North Penn Water Association,
previous Town Supervisor for Skippack Township, Skippack Planning Board,
and Sewer Authority. His civic duties continued here in
Sun City Center as a two term Director for Sun City Center,
Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Amateur Radio Control Airplanes.

Martha and Al were married October 3, 1968
and would bring 2 loving daughters into this world and their families.
Elizabeth Anne Alderman-Latsko and her loving husband,
Michael Joseph Latsko. Their beautiful son, Jack Joseph Latsko.
Mary Alderman-McGarry and her loving husband Jeffrey Scott McGarry.
Their beautiful children, Colin Drake, Sean Neville, and Ciara Elizabeth McGarry.
In addition to his own children, he was the beloved Uncle to
Christopher, Heidi, and Deborah Kapteina; Matthew and Benjamin Collen;
Morgan, Connor and Hunter Alderman. He provided a stable and
loving life with good guidance and goals to attain.

Al Loved spending time with his four grandchildren,
but mostly spending time with his beloved wife,
Martha Anne Alderman of almost 49 years and his treasured
dear friend Rocky Stadalninkas for 53 years. All complimented by
his continuous involvement in his church community
Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sun City Center, Florida
and Trinity United Church of Christ in Skippack, Pennsylvania.

A new chapter in Al's life began when he welcomes
his first grandchild into the world Colin Drake McGarry on June 28, 2004.
His heart melted and felt the love only a grandparent could feel.
Al was blessed by three more grandchildren Jack Latsko,
Sean and Ciara McGarry and a whole
bundle of great nieces and nephews.

Al, the family patriarch,
would want his life remembered as "Big Al", "The King", "Mr. Big Shot",
The Dancer, The Golfer, The Believer, Big Brother,
most importantly "Daddy" and "Pop pop".
Well known and well liked. Al will always be treasured
and cherished for all the memories and those crazy
lectures and your favorite phrase "God Bless".

Al has carved his name in many hearts.
A legacy is etched into the minds of others
and the stories they share about you.

We loved you every day and your
family and friends will miss you every day.
