Alberta "Gail" Stephens, Age 70, passed away on September 4th, 2024. She was born November 26, 1953, in Panama City, FL, to the late Ruthford Stephens, Sr and Clarice Leana Stephens.
Alberta "Gail" as everyone called her grew up in the Florida panhandle of Panama City, Bay County she lived and cared for their mother until her mother passed away in 2010. She symbolized her life in baptism to Jehovah on January 13, 2013.
She and her beloved dog "Roco" stayed in her home until 2018. That year she and her sister Carla and Brother-in-Law Paul evacuated, because hurricane Michael was approaching, to stay with their sister Letitia until it was safe to return home.
Upon returning they found that the Panama City area had been devastated by the hurricane. Knowing that it was unsafe to stay there at the time Letitia, her husband Patrick and Tatiana took Gail, their niece Marketta and Gail's beloved dog "Roco" into their home. Although it presented its challenges, they adjusted to their new normal, Gail stayed with Letitia's family until her passing on September 4th, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her brother Ruthford Stephens, Jr; As a loving mother she is survived by her child Phillip Levi (Nicole) Stephens, Aberdeen, Washington; sisters, Patricia Ann (Ben) Richardson, Daleville, AL; Angelia Fay (Hank) Price, Oxford, MS; Carla Denise (Paul) Bankston, Apalachicola, FL and Letitia Lynne (Patrick) Demings, Riverview, FL.; granddaughter, Raylee Stephens, Aberdeen, Washington; nieces, Shonn Lashetta Richardson, Marketta Vertina Peacock, and Tatiana LaKeisha Demings; nephews, William Charles Rogers, Anthonio Richardson, Ruthford Stephens, III, Nahshon Howard Bankston, Carl Joseph Bankston and numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be, Thursday, September 12, 6-8pm at 13533 Willow Bluestar Loop, Riverview, FL 33579. There will be a memorial service on Friday, September 13 at 1p at Zipperer's Funeral Home with Neil Price officiating.
