Alma Lillian Dowdy was born June 18, 1918 in Tioga, North Dakota, the daughter of Hulbert and Dena Rodahl. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She graduated from high school in North Dakota and then completed beauty school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While in Wisconsin, Alma was united in marriage to James Dowdy. They moved to Benson, Minnesota where Alma was the Benson Estates Manager for 25 years. She enjoyed keeping up with the news and cooking. Alma was called from this life on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Meadow Lane Health Care Center. She attained the age of 93 years, 8 months and 25 days. Alma is survived by many nieces and nephews and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, Hulbert and Dena Rodahl; her husband, James Dowdy; five sisters and two brothers.
