Obituary

Alma Ogren Nelson was born December 13, 1907, at Milan to Ole and Oleana (Olson) Ogren. She attended rural District #49 at Milan through the eighth grade. In 1926 she was married to Ole Winger at Benson. In 1959 she was married to Eugene Nelson. They farmed from 1959 - 1970. Alma worked at Fingerhut and was employed as a cook at Kaufman Hospital for many years. Alma also did house cleaning for a number of people in Appleton.Alma died on Wednesday morning, September 15th, at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria. She had attained 102 years, 9 months, and 2 days of age.She is survived by her son, James (Doris) Winger, of Alexandria; four grandchildren: Julie (Scott) Thomas, Ross (Karen) Winger, Dana (Doug) Moyer and Randy (Maureen) Winger; six great-grandchildren: Joseph Thomas, Nicole Moyer, Gage and Madalyn Winger, Justin (Kim) Moyer, and Emily (Robert) Ladwig; sister, Estelle Knigge, of St. Louis Park; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.Alma is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene, in February, 1984; six sisters: Theresa Bergstad, Selma Ogren, Hylda Mortvedt, Gladys Powell, Ruby Ogren, and Marie Torgerson; two brothers: William and Helmer Ogren; five half-sisters: Genora Ogren, Helga Borgerson, Lillian Elg, Emily Sumner, and Otelia Swanson; and a half-brother, Gothard Ogren.
