Arnold Norvin Danielson was born on November 30, 1924 in Danielson Township rural Litchfield, MN the son of Earl P. and Cora M. (Nelson) Danielson. He was called from this life on Friday evening, January 23rd at the Glacial Ridge Healthcare, Glenwood Hospital, Glenwood, MN. He had attained the age of 84 years, 1 month and 23 days. Arnold was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at East Zion Lutheran Church. He grew up in rural Starbuck and attended country school in Langhei Township, District Number 22. He graduated from the Starbuck High School in 1943. In the summer of 1944, Arnold enlisted in the Army and served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was honorably discharged as a Sgt. in August of 1946. He farmed with his dad and brothers in rural Starbuck and later worked for the Swift Packing Company in South St. Paul, MN for a short time. On July 12, 1953, Arnold was united in marriage to Madelyn C. Maanum, at the West Zion Lutheran Church in rural Hancock, MN, by Rev. L.C. Anderson. To this union two sons and one daughter were born. Together Arnold and Madelyn were able to share in 55 years of marriage. Arnold and Madelyn purchased a farm in Rolling Forks Township. Arnold and Madelyn lived and worked there until 1966. They sold their farm and moved to Benson. Arnold worked at Dokken Machine for three years and for 20 years at Swift County Coop Oil. He retired in 1989. He also served as an auxiliary Police Officer in Benson for ten years. He was a member of the Farmers Union, the V.F.W. in Starbuck and Benson, MN and had served on the church council at East Zion Lutheran Church and Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church. Among the things Arnold enjoyed were his family and grandchildren and visiting with friends. He enjoyed all sports: football, baseball, softball. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, deer hunting, bus trips and gardening. Arnold is survived by his wife: Madelyn Danielson of Starbuck, MN; two sons: Paul (Cheryl) Danielson of Starbuck, MN and John (Bety) Danielson of Kandiyohi, MN; one daughter: Joan (John) Wigfield of Maplewood, MN; seven grandchildren: Barry Danielson, Nick Danielson, Emily Wigfield, Kari Danielson, LeAnn Danielson, Shelby Danielson and Michael Wigfield; one great-grandson: Christopher Danielson; two brothers: Raynold (Delores) Danielson of Starbuck, MN and Delner Danielson of Woodbury, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents: Earl and Cora Danielson; one brother: Edner Danielson; two sister in-laws: Elsie and Janet Danielson.
