Barbara Lee Turner, age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, October 10, 2019 at Bayshore Pointe Nursing and Rehab center in Tampa, Florida. She was born April 5, 1932 to Violet Norton and Leslie Miller.
She married Albert Turner on July 17, 1951 and was married 59 years until Albert's passing on February 15, 2011. She spent her life as a dedicated wife and mother of four, while using her gifts and talents to enrich the lives of many. Barbara shared her beautiful art through paintings, sculptures, originally designed clothing, upholstering and the list goes on. Music was at the heart of who she was so she taught vocals to her children and grandchildren as well as friends, family and anyone who showed an interest.
In the mid 1950s she gave her life to God by joining Mount Calvary S.D.A church through a Tent Effort, which led to husband Albert, her mother, siblings, aunts and so on, joining Mount Calvary and coming into the Seventh day Adventist faith. As servants of God, Barbara and Albert had many ministries over the years. Some of which included singing groups that performed throughout the Bay area and a nursing home ministry that they regularly carried from facility to facility, in an effort to ensure the sick and shut in an opportunity to hear god's word through sermon and song.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Albert Turner Jr. (wife Mary), Donald Turner (wife Corliss), Bruce Turner ( wife Olivia); daughter, Sheila Lovett (husband Christopher); siblings, Bloneva Smith, Clarence Norton, Janice Allen, Lesley Miller Jr.; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
