Obituary

Betty Norbeck, born Elizabeth Mae Miller, of Kings Point died peacefully June 7, 2013 at Hospice House in Sun City Center, Florida.
She was born on March 19, 1921 in Homestead, Pa. and was the daughter of the late Charles (Charlie) Asher and Rose Caspary Miller. She is survived by her daughter Nan Jones (Bob) of Seneca, SC, two grandchildren, Catherine R. of Miami Beach, Fl. and Douglas R. Jones (Robyn) of Alexandria, Va. and two great grandchildren, Caroline Elisabeth and Charlie R. Jones. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Curtis Charles Norbeck and her sister, Mary Levy.
She was a 1942 graduate of Penn State University and a member of Chi Omega Fraternity. Since she moved to Florida 35 years ago, she had participated in numerous Kings Point activities, was as an avid golfer, member of Panhellenic Bridge Group and had been the corresponding secretary of the Col. George Mercer Brooke Chapter of the DAR.
A private burial will be held in the Raleigh National Cemetery where she will be buried with her husband, Lt. Commander Curtis C. Norbeck, USNR.
Memorials may be made in her name to the Tamassee DAR School, 1925 Bumgardner Drive, P.O. Box 8, Tamassee, SC 29686.
Zipperer's Funeral Home in Ruskin is in charge of the arrangements.
