Billy Thomas, 76, embarked on his journey to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 27, 2025. Billy was born in Louisville, Alabama, to George and Kathleen Thomas on October 5, 1948. He was a humble soul, dedicating his life to serving the Lord with unwavering devotion. There were three things Billy cherished most in this world: hunting, fishing, and his family. He found immense joy in the tranquil moments spent in nature, whether patiently waiting for the perfect catch on the water or tracking game through the woods. These pursuits were more than mere hobbies; they were a cherished way of life for Billy.
Above all, Billy's heart belonged to his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 56 years, Sylvia, and a proud father to their children. His granddaughters were the light of his life, and he seized every opportunity to share his wisdom and stories with them, leaving behind a legacy of love.
Billy's life was a testament to the power of humility and devotion. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Lucy, Molene, and Louise. He is survived by his wife Sylvia, daughter Danita Thomas-Granger (Lawrence), son Daniel Thomas (Ivey), and his treasured granddaughters Lexxus Bowens (Joshua) and Haylee Thomas. His brother, Bobby Thomas (Nita), and numerous loving nieces and nephews, also honor his memory.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM, held at HighPoint Church of Brandon, located at 2207 Lithia Pinecrest Road, Valrico, FL 33596. The family warmly invites friends to bring a dish to share and join us in reminiscing about the cherished memories.
