Bruce A. Scheller, Sr. went to eternal rest on September 10, 2015. He was born on August 25, 1949, in Providence, Rhode Island, and had resided in the Tampa area for the past 35 years. He was preceded in death by his father Arnold Scheller, his mother Eleanor, and his step mother Carole. He is survived by his wife Shirley May, four children Bruce Scheller, Jr. of Tampa, Florida; Jamie Holmes of Murphy, North Carolina; Lori Yeago of Riverview, Florida; and Marci Martinez of New Kent, Virginia; 10 grandchildren Dylan Hall, Addie Hall, Kaley Holmes, Megan May, Austin Yeago, Justin Yeago, Kyler Covington, Keagan Covington, Miguel Martinez, and Bella Martinez; two brothers, Arnold and wife Sonia and Craig along with nieces, nephews and other family members and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten.
Bruce was a proud Marine, serving his country in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. Though he held several management positions after leaving the military, it was being in business with his wife and being able to work with her every day that he most enjoyed. While they shared successful businesses, Bruce loved the water and boating and often remarked that he turned in his fleet of boats for a fleet of land-loving RVs as he loved this country and loved to travel. Although they traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada traveling to see his family was what mattered most to him. He adored his family and loved them above all else. As a husband he loved deeply and cherished his wife, making sure he showed her every day. As a father, he was patient and kind; he was always there to help in any way he could. As a brother and uncle, he loved to keep the family together, making it a priority for everyone getting together as much as possible.
Bruce was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. Most important to Bruce was being around the people he truly loved while living life to the fullest. As he always said "It's a beautiful thing" to share laughter, compassion, and wisdom with those you really care about. He was an active member of the VFW where he served proudly as Commander for three terms and held various other offices. Bruce was also a life-time member of the Marine Corp League and DAV along with the American Legion and Moose Lodge. Indubitably.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Ruskin Memorial VFW Post 6287 on Sunday, September 27 at 3:00 with full military honors and service at Bushnell Florida National Cemetery on Monday, September 28th at 2:00.
To fuller demonstrate his love of family, friends and country, Bruce's final wishes were that in lieu of flowers, please DO NOT vote for Hillary for President.
