Carolyn Alva Lee was born October 6, 1934, in Winthrop, Minnesota, the daughter of Donald John and Alva Marion (Espenson) Larson. She was baptized in May of 1938 at the Congregational Church in Faribault by Rev. Perrin and confirmed into the Christian faith in March of 1948 by Rev. Hulbert. She grew up in Faribault and graduated from Faribault High School with the Class of 1952. She went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota in 1956. On March 29, 1958, Carolyn was united in marriage to Wallace Lee at Union Congregational Church in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. This union was blessed with two children. Wallace passed away in 1991, they were able to share in 33 years of marriage. Carolyn taught Jr. High Home Economics in Benson from 1956 ? 59, then worked in Dr. T.S. Eberley's Office for several years. From 1984 to 2003, she owned and operated Interior Views in Benson. She was active in the community and was a member of the Zetetic Study Club, Fibrominn Citizens Advisory Panel, Swift County Humane Society, Fenton Art Glass Collectors of America, Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church Choir, Gamma Omicron Beta Foundation, Friend of the Benson Public Library, Swift County Benson Hospital Foundation, Benson Area Chamber of Commerce, Benson Area Community Foundation, and Benson City Planning Commission. Carolyn was called from this life on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Golden Living Center in Benson. She attained the age of 74 years, 6 months, and 27 days. Carolyn is survived by her children: Elizabeth Lee of Guelph, Ontario, Canada and Scott (Catherine) Lee of Benson; three grandchildren: Hayden, Everett, and Grace Lee; siblings: Janet Larson of Edina, and Matt Larson of Detroit, MI; nephews and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband Wallace; and her parents, Donald and Alva.
