Carolyn Annette Moore grew up in Alabama. In 1957, at the age of 11, her parents moved her and her four brothers to Ruskin, Florida. This town would become Carolyn's home for the next 64 years.

Around 1962, Carolyn was hanging out at the local hotspot — the A&W Root Beer stand — when she met Gene. Little did she know that he would propose to her on Sand Mountain in Fort Meade just a few months later.

Carolyn and Gene got married on May 2, 1963, and had their first child, David Jr., on December 27, 1964. Just before the arrival of their second child, Vicki, they built their own "forever" home on an empty acre of farmland on East Shell Point Road in Ruskin.

She had her work cut out for her. With her husband working two jobs, Carolyn took up two of her own: housewife and mom. When her kids went to school, she picked up a position at Ruskin Elementary School . But once they got older, she decided to go to beautician school .

Rolling up her sleeves, Carolyn took on her third job as a hairdresser. Surprisingly, her friend Diane decided to sell her the business, and she became a business owner in the mid-80s. A few short years later, Gene refurbished their "pool room" into her own beauty shop. Carolyn worked from home for the next 25 years.

This all worked out in her favor because Carolyn was a family woman through and through. Her first grandchild, Melissa, was born in 1990, followed by Tiffani in 1991 and Kyle in 1997. Carolyn created a home for a second generation as they visited every summer, holiday, and countless weekends.

But she welcomed more than just her family into her home. Just about every extended friend and family member can tell you stories about summers spent at Carloyn's. Whether it was just a short visit or a day of playing in the pool.

She was known by many names, but those who knew her best called her Aunt Care Care, Sis, Mom, and Winnie.

Carolyn passed away in her family home of 56 years on Saturday, August 21, 2021, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, David Eugene Daniel, Sr. in 2013, and 4 brothers: Buddy, Tony, Roger, and Jim Moore.

Celebrating her life are her two children, David and Vicki Daniel, daughter-in-law Julie Daniel, her favorite grandchildren Melissa, Tiffani, and Kyle, among many nieces and nephews.
