Clarence A. Cronauer, 89, of Sun City Center, Florida formally of Wilkes-Barre, PA passed away April 20, 2013. He was the son of the late Clarence B. and Mildred (Miller) Cronauer.
He graduated from G.A.R. High School and served as an AEM1c (Aviation Electrician's Mate first class) in the U.S. Navy during WWII between 1943 and 1946. Clarence was an avid supporter of The Silver Osprey Squadron #64 and also a member of The Association of Naval Aviation. He was a member of The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 163 for over fifty years. Before his retirement he obtained a pilot's license and enjoyed flying his own plane.
Clarence became a resident of Florida in the year 2000. He lived in Naples and then Sun City Center. He loved golf, his weekly pinochle club and was an avid sportsman. Clarence was also past President and served on the Board of Directors of the Wyoming Valley Pilots Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dolores J. (Pesavento) and son-in-law Martin Anstett. Surviving are his long time significant other, Harriet Armstrong; a daughter, Carole (Cronauer) Anstett, a son, Thomas and wife Joanne (Siefring); three grandchildren, Thomas Cronauer, Marty Anstett and Lori (Anstett) Barse; three great grandchildren, Grace Anstett, Nicholas Barse and Gabriella Barse; two brothers, Raymond and Robert and one sister, Mary (Cronauer) Delong.
A Mass and Christian burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to The Life Path Hospice 723 Upper Creek Drive Ruskin FL 33573.
