David Ronald Edmonds, 60, died of natural causes on March 24, 2024, in Sun City Center, Florida. He leaves behind his loving mother, Judith Bush (Doyle), sisters Terri Reed (David), Suzette Edmonds, Deann Hutchins (Mark), stepbrothers Randy Bush and Danny Bush, nieces Kristy D'Annunzio-Lewis (Travis), Michelle Stewart (Joseph), Jennifer D'Annunzio (Timothy), Brittney Robinson and nephew Noah Hutchins, great nephews Landyn, Levi and Lyric Stewart and Emmett Combs. David was pre-deceased by his father, Ronald Wayne Edmonds.
David was born in Dearborn Michigan on March 17, 1964, and always enjoyed sharing his birthday with the Irish. David graduated in 1982 from Winston Churchill High School in Livonia, Michigan. As a child and young adult, David loved playing 3 things above all else, hockey, baseball, and his guitar. David was scrappy - small for an athlete, but he didn't seem to notice. It taught him early in life how to survive as the underdog. David spent most of his working years in the manufacturing industry and as an apprentice in home construction.
After being hobbled by a traumatic brain injury as the result of a fall in 2019, he became a resident of Cumberland Village nursing home in LaFollette, Tennessee. There, he was a friend to many and found his calling in helping those that needed extra care. He was their confidant, errand runner, entertainer, personal assistant, and nobody was ever left alone on his watch. He kept many of those friends close after leaving Cumberland Village to continue his rehabilitation and be closer to family in Florida.
David had friends for life, leaving behind his best buddies Jimmy Armstrong, Scott Davis, Bo Marshall, and Jimmy Munson, for whom his family is eternally grateful. Like many, David struggled with the curse of addiction. Some days he won and others he didn't, but he fought with all he had to live his best life. David had been able to live independently for the past year, and very much enjoyed the sunshine and warmth of Florida. David loved 'golf cart cruising', playing cards and 'Taco Tuesday' with Mom, church dinners, trips to 'Nearly New', tinkering in the small workshop that he constructed in his condo… and still strumming his guitar.
There will be a private burial in Michigan to be planned for a later date. In lieu of donations, please pay forward a random act of kindness in David's memory.
