Debra Marie Pratt of Ruskin, Fl was called home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 after a corageous battle with Lou Gehrigs disease.
Debbie was born in Akron, Ohio January 13,1963 to Edward and Susan Pratt. She was predeacesed by her loving mother Susan L Pratt. She is survivied by her father Edward G. Pratt Jr, her loving daughter Trista(Roman) Rodriguez and "MiMi" to her precious grandchildren Kayleigh Sue and Blake Rodriguez. Her brother Edward G Pratt III (Janice), nephews Alex(Amber) Pratt and Levi Pratt, brother Shawn (Julie) Pratt. Sister Michelle M Tarrant, loving brother in law Tim Tarrant, niece Savannah L Tarrant and nephew Edward T Tarrant.
Debbie grew up in Ohio moving to Florida with her family in 1981. Her great compassion for others led her to follow in her mothers foot steps and become a nurse. Debbie worked in the ICU at South Bay Hospital for twenty years until her illness required her to end her servitude there. Debbie also acquired on Associates Degree in Elementary Education.
Debbie had a servants heart and always felt the need to help others. Whether is was a family member or a stranger, Debbie gave her all to help them in their time of need. A nurse friend of Debbie's told a story of a homeless man who came to the hospital and Debbie gowned up and scrubbed him from head to toe. His feet required a great deal of cleansing, some one made the comment, "why are you bother to do that?" and Debbie replied, "because Jesus tells us to wash each others feet.
When Debbie was diagnosed in 2008 with Lou Gehrigs disease, her favorite saying became, " I am in a win, win situation, I win if they find a cure and I win if I go home to my Lord." Debbie remained ever faithful of spreading the gospel thru out her illness.
Debbie will be greatly missed but let us rejoice that she is with her Lord and Savior.
