Obituary

Delford Palmer Teske was born on October 5, 1916, in Shible Township, Swift County, to Ferdinand and Sophie (Schreck) Teske. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Shible Township. Delford attended Appleton High School and graduated in 1934.After high school Delford served with the US Army from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1946. On September 23, 1948, he was married to Viola M. Bahl. He then operated Teske's Recreation for several years. After this business he delivered milk for the Appleton Creamery and worked in the produce department at the Super Value store until his retirement.Delford enjoyed fishing and a good game of Rummy or Whist. He also enjoyed watching sports, both college and professional, and particularly the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. He was a member of VFW Post No. 4955 and American Legion Post No. 72 of Appleton.Delford died on Tuesday, August 25th, at the Good Samaritan Center in Battle Lake. He had attained 92 years, 10 months, and 20 days of age.He is survived by four sons: Larry (Marsha) Teske of Honolulu, HI, Jerome Teske of Battle Lake, Daryle (Vicki) Teske of Moorhead and Danny Teske of Fergus Falls; three granddaughters: Malia of Honolulu, HI, and Lauren and Brynn of Moorhead; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Viola, on November 29, 2004; and three brothers: Herbert, Willard, and Albert Teske.
