Dennis George Gronholz was born on September 28, 1939, at the Appleton Municipal Hospital to Wilbert and Leona (Schirm) Gronholz. He was baptized on October 22, 1939, at Immanuel Lutheran Church -Shible Township. On May 24, 1953 Dennis was confirmed into the Lutheran Faith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. Dennis attended Appleton High School. He married Nancy Zinda on July 6, 1963. To this union three children were blessed; Roxanna, Randi, and Robbie. Dennis spent much of his younger years riding and breaking horses. His passion for horses led him to be a founding member of the Trailblazer's Saddle Club. He enjoyed playing electric guitar and dancing. Dennis worked in agriculture his entire life as a milk truck driver, gravel truck driver and as a farmer. Dennis died on February 25, 2012 at Northridge Nursing Home in Ortonville. He had reached the age of 72 years, 4 months, and 27 days. He is survived by his children, Roxanna (Kevin) Gapstur of Blaine, Randi Norby of Montevideo, and Rob (Marlise) Gronholz of Ortonville; eleven grandchildren: Kirsten Boelson, Caitlin Boelson, Gina Gapstur, Kelsey Gapstur, Julian Norby, Garrett Norby, Hillori (Gronholz) Pearson, Rhealee Gronholz, Mellissa Jolliff, Michael Jolliff, and Abby Jolliff; two great-granddaughters: Madelyn Boelson and Kylee Gutierrez; his brother David (Marlene) Gronholz of Appleton; two sisters: Kathryn (Gerald) Radtke of Correll and Debra (JC) Smith of St. Michael ; one aunt Doris (Tudy) Iwerks of Farmington; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.He is preceded in death by his parents.
