Obituary

Dianne Marie Baker was born August 7, 1944, in Swift County, the daughter of Orville Milton Jacob and Adora Loretta (Rice) Quale. She grew up on a farm northwest of Sunburg and attended country school. She graduated from Kerkhoven High School with the Class of 1962. On August 14, 1964, Dianne was united in marriage to Gene Francis Baker at West Norway Lake Lutheran Church near Sunburg. This union was blessed with three children. Gene passed away in 1987, so together, Dianne and Gene were able to share in 23 years of marriage. The family farmed until 1986. Dianne worked for Jennie O, Mike's Lutefisk, and most recently for Lake Region Home Health as an aid. Among the things she enjoyed were playing Bingo, working crossword puzzles, reading, spending time at Camp Lake, spending time with her pets Oreo and Pumpkin, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Dianne was called from this life on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at her home. She attained the age of 64 years, 7 months and 14 days. Dianne is survived by her children: Keenan Baker (and Christine Jenniges) of Sunburg; Stacie Warner (and Mike Gerke) of New London; and Leonda (Matt) Gottwald of Willmar; six grandchildren: Lynn, Luke, Hailey, Bret, Merissa, and Kaelynn; siblings: Karen (Dean) Mellgren of Kerkhoven, David (Jane) Quale of Kerkhoven, and Nita (Don) Meulebroeck of Glenwood; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, Gene; her parents, Orville and Adora; a brother Gene Quale in 1970 and a grandson Ryan in 2006.
