Don L. Boatner, 75, of Riverview, FL, passed away at home on June 13, 2019.
Born in Chattanooga, TN on April 09, 1944 to Grover and Marjory Boatner. He grew up in Tennessee and joined the Navy in 1961. Upon leaving the Navy Don went in search of new adventures and traveled to find himself and his life passions. He spent time again in Chattanooga Tennessee as a radio personality and was known as "Captain Country". A career he was very proud of. He spent a significant amount of his life living in Jesup Georgia where for a few years he owned and operated a pawn shop called "Money Talks Pawn Shop". This also was an accomplishment that he was proud of and enjoyed doing very much. Fulfilling yet another passion, riding motorcycles, he belonged to an AM Vets motorcycle club that gave him opportunity to socialize with his military brothers and ride while also doing charity work on behalf of the club. Helping others gave him great pleasure as did the bonds he made with his fellow club brothers.
Don will always be remembered for his outgoing personality and great sense of humor. He was a lady's man up until the end with his flirtatious charm and whit entertaining the women that came near him. He was kind and giving and supportive of those he loved. He helped people in need and always had advice for anyone that would listen. Don will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. He was well loved.
He is preceded in death by his parents Grover and Marjory Boatner and his eldest daughter Lisa Marie Alvarez. He is survived by his son Eric Boatner, daughters; Naniska Mielke and Sabrena Berkhahn, Grandchildren; Dustin, Shawn, Savanah and Taylor and his sister Phyllis Henson.
