Doris Viola Koosmann was born in Willmar on March 18, 1925, to John J. and Henrietta (Deurloo) Kolb. She was confirmed at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Benson. Doris graduated from Benson High School in 1943, and then attended St. Cloud Teacher's College for four years.On April 18, 1947, she was married to Carl H. Koosmann at Montevideo. Doris taught school at Montevideo, Fairfield, Holloway, and Appleton for several years. After retiring from teaching she was treasurer for the City of Holloway for many years. When she was able she liked to read, do crafts, and enjoyed babysitting. Doris was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was active with the ladies aid. She also was a hospice volunteer at one time.Doris died on Sunday, January 10, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Arkansas Hospice, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She had attained 84 years, 9 months, and 22 days of age.She is survived by her daughter, Sheila (James) Foley of Bismarck, AR, granddaughter, Jill (Patrick) Lemley, of Jonesboro, AR; two step-grandchildren: Tammy Hawley of North Little Rock, AR and Leigh (Randy) Carson of Jacksonville, AR; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia (Lee) Stetson of Vaughn, MT; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl, on April 23, 1993; and brother, Charles Kolb.
