Obituary

Doris L. Stolz (nee Larson) of Waukesha, WI and Sun City Center, Florida, entered Eternal Life with the Lord on November 12, 2025 at the age of 91, reuniting her with her beloved husband, Peter. Doris was the beloved daughter of the late Jens and Anna Larson.

Proud and loving mother of Sheryl Weise, Steven (Mary), Diane (Casey) Christopherson, and Sandra (James) Hollnagel. Loving grandmother of Matthew, Phillip, Michael, Kayla (Matthew), Tyler (Fay), Joseph, Katherine (Elijah), Evan, Dana, Laura, Austin (Brittany), Zachary, Adam (Alexis), Anna, Sarah, Addison, and Riley. Loving great-grandmother of Esther, Charlie, Penelope, Kaiden, Tahlia, Peter, Chiara, Ava, and Zya. Also survived by her loving sister, Vernice Branson, along with her two close friends, June Westphal and Laura Collett.

Doris was born in Iola, WI on January 13, 1934 and moved to Milwaukee in 1941. Following her graduation from Rufus King High School, she went to work at Wisconsin Electric Power Company for seven years. In 1954, she married Peter Stolz and they later moved to Menomonee Falls. Together, they were world travelers, adventuring to places like Norway, Germany, Turkey, South Africa, Brazil and Belgium, often visiting their past foreign exchange students and families. Doris worked part time for Peter until they retired in 1998 to a lake home near Shawano. After Peter's death in 2003, Doris moved to Pewaukee where she could be closer to her family and friends.

Doris was very active in the service organization, Inner Wheel, and chartered three Inner Wheel clubs in Menomonee Falls, Shawano, and Omaha, NE. Besides serving on the local and district levels, she was also the National President and International Board Director of Inner Wheel. She was also a very active member of Patio Players—a local theater group in Menomonee Falls—where she took part in many plays/musicals and also helped with props and costumes.

Doris loved costume parties, entertaining in her home, and could turn any phrase into a song or melody. She showed her love through hand-painted Rosemåling gifts, playing endless games with family and friends, and spending hours making her signature dishes: Norwegian potato dumplings and lefse. She also loved to serve her grandchildren mystery lunches and homemade donuts at the annual Stolz family vacation at the lake.

A memorial service, followed by a dessert buffet, will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 1:00pm at Galilee Lutheran Church in Pewaukee, Wisconsin (N24 W26430 Crestview Drive).

In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a donation to Alzheimer's Association ( www.alz.org ) or Inner Wheel ( www.innerwheelusa.org ), or simply take a moment to hold Doris' memory in your hearts today.
