Edna Marie Telford was born on April 2, 1924, in Canby, MN, the daughter of Arthur and Edna (McKenzie) Yackley. She lived in Geneseo, IL, until the age of five, when she moved to Canby with her family. She attended public school in Canby.Edna lived in California working as a phone operator during World War II. On January 1, 1946, Edna was united in marriage to Raymond Telford at Zachaeus Lutheran Church in Canby. They moved to Appleton In 1947. This union was blessed with sixty years of marriage and three children. She was a member of the Joy circle at Zion Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Edna was active in the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts while her children were growing up. Crossword puzzles, playing Bridge, sewing, traveling and golfing were some of her favorite pastimes. Edna and Ray thoroughly enjoyed a wide circle of friends and family. Her grandchildren were truly blessed by having her in their lives. Edna was called from this life on Friday, January 28, 2011. She lived to the age of 86 years, 9 months and 26 days. She is survived by her children Jackie (Tom) Brooks of Carlsbad, CA, Kathryn "Kitty" (Ron) Krogsrud of Appleton, and David (Bea) Telford of Appleton; five grandchildren, Michael Sletten of Davisville, MO, Gregory Krogsrud of Appleton, Johanna Krogsrud of Shakopee, Marcus Krogsrud of Correll, and Melissa Telford of Bloomington; sister Margaret Zanke of Elk River; brother- in-law Charles Telford of Appleton; sisters-in-law Pat Weber of Springfield, OR, and Hazel Reneau of Fresno, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond, on December 1, 2006; brothers Arthur, Lester and Frank Yackley; and sisters Alice Grengs and Marjorie Merritt.
