Obituary

Eileen Doris Anderson was born October 24, 1922, at Manannah, MN to parents William T. and Myrtle N. (Ellsworth) Christle. She was baptized in November of 1922, and was confirmed in June of 1933, both at Manannah. In 1960 she was confirmed with her family of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairfield Township. Eileen attended country school at District #12 for seven years, one year at Manannah, and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1940.December 27, 1940, she was married to Walter Donald Anderson in Minneapolis. In 1945 they moved to Fairfield Township and started Anderson Motors and W. D. Anderson trucking. Eileen retired in 1980 and then went back to work cleaning houses for others until her final retirement in 1997.Eileen enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, playing cards, and puzzles. She enjoyed visiting with people, and had fondnesses for chocolate and wolves. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairfield Township and the American Legion Auxiliary of Appleton. She was always willing to help others. She was cheerful, easy going, always had a smile, talkative, patriotic, and loved living in Fairfield Township.Eileen died on Saturday morning, September 24, 2011, at Appleton Area Health Services. She had attained 88 years and 11 months of age.She is survived by two sons: Donald (Arlene) Anderson of Glenwood and Bill (Marilyn) Anderson of Appleton; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother: Tom (Marlene) Christle of Paynesville; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter D. Anderson, in 1980; infant son, Michael, in 1953; two sons: Walter Eugene in 1975 and Kenneth Lee in 1996; two brothers, John Christle and Bill Christle; and half-brother, Robert Scanlon.
