Eileen Zalesak (age 91) passed away on the morning of June 23, 2026, at Palm Gardens Nursing Home – Sun City Center Florida as the result of complications from pneumonia. 

 Eileen was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 16, 1934. Her parents were Eilert and Dagny Samuelsen. 

 In her early years, she enjoyed traveling, cruising, bowling, and skiing. She spent time with friends exploring Europe, Colorado, and New York. She also enjoyed ski racing and was a proud member of the Norway Ski Club in Upstate NY. Eileen was happiest when she was outdoors, vacationing on a farm, and being around animals, especially dogs. She loved her dogs Penny, Buffy, and Bernie. 

 In her golden years, she would always have treats for the squirrels and dogs that visited her home.After high school, she worked as an executive assistant at a bank until she met Emil Zalesak. They married in January 1961 and had three children. She dedicated her future years raising her children.The family moved from the city streets of downtown Brooklyn in 1970 to the open country setting of Staten Island. She later relocated to Kings Point in Sun City Center, FL after her husband Emil passed away in 1987. 

 Eileen is survived by her children, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
