Eleanor R. Boettcher was born on March 13, 1931, in Fairfield Township, Swift County, to Carl and Stella (Mulvihill) Giese. She grew up in the Appleton/Holloway area. On July 22, 1950, she was married to Don Boettcher in Holloway. After their marriage they lived in Osakis. After Donâ?TMs death in 1957 Eleanor and her family moved back to Appleton.During her life Eleanor worked as head cook at the school for several years. She also worked at the nursing home, the public library, the bowling alley, restaurants, was legal secretary, and worked with the Head Start program until failing health forced her retirement.She is survived by four children: Donna (Robert) Salmonson of Rice, James (Janet) Boettcher of Centerville, Gary (Julie) Boettcher of Montevideo, and Keith Boettcher (special friend Ann Porter) of Appleton; ten grandchildren: Michelle Salmonson, Denielle (Tony) Velasquez, Noelle Salmonson, Bradley Boettcher, Jeffrey (Kasy) Boettcher, Amy (Dan) Weiand, Stephanie Boettcher, Jennifer (Jesse) Myers, Jeremy Boettcher, and Jacob Boettcher; 11 great-grandchildren: Isabelle Velasquez, Trenton Boettcher, Brianna Boetttcher, Leona Boettcher, LillyAnn Boettcher, Catlin Weiand, Casey Weiand, Keith Weiand, Connor Rudi, Gage Myers, and Cameron Myers; three sisters: Jackie (Alvin) Maas of Odessa, Ardis (Marlow) Schwartz of Appleton, and Vivian Huntington of Sauk Rapids; two brothers: Charles (Gloria) Giese of Holloway, and Jerry Giese of Appleton; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don, in 1957; infant brother, Richard; sister-in-law, Junyce Giese; and brother-in-law, Jerroll Huntington.
