Ethelwyn "Wyn" J. Mattheisen, was born on August 1, 1925, in Spicer, MN, the daughter of Enoch and Bertha Sande Erickson. She grew up in the Terrace Minnesota area. She graduated from Murdock High School. Wyn was united in marriage to Marcellus "Sal" Mattheisen on September 20, 1946, in South Dakota. Together they were able to share in 52 years of marriage. They lived on Lake Linka where they ran a resort. They then moved to Minneapolis where she worked at Precision Associates. They retired to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1987, and Wyn returned to Murdock in 1998 after her husband's passing. She was a member of the VFW auxiliary, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Council of Catholic Women, and the Terrace Mill Foundation. Wyn enjoyed reading, embroidery, doing crossword puzzles, and loved to take care of her family. Wyn was called from this life on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Golden Living center in Benson. She attained the age of 83 years, 9 months, and 27 days. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Katherine Carlson and her friend Kathie Heath of Princeton, Minnesota; one grand daughter Renee Dubay; three sisters; Alphie "Joey" Cain, Minneapolis, Pam (John) Kelly of DeGraff, and Bonnie Fread of Melrose; three brothers Ray (Maxine) Iverson of Glenwood, Richard (Amy) Iverson of Glenwood, and Ronald Elsie) Iverson of St. Francis. Ethelywyn was preceded in death by her husband Marcellus in 1998, parents Enoch and Bertha, her step father Ben Iverson, her brothers Herbert "Bud" Erickson and Russell Iverson; and a sister Rosemary Honey.
