Celebration of Life
Evelyn Lwanda Campbell
December 28, 1932 – March 9, 2026.
Evelyn Lwanda Campbell, 93, of Parrish, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at LifePath Hospice House, surrounded by the love of her family. Lwanda was born on December 28, 1932, in Heber Springs, Arkansas, to Arlie and Ethel Blevins.
She lived an adventurous early life, moving across the country multiple times with her parents and siblings. She met and married the love of her life, her soulmate, Harley Campbell, in California. They proudly raised their two children, Michael Campbell and Marcella Miller, and always put their children’s needs above their own.
Lwanda was a woman of remarkable strength and accomplishment. She began her career as a schoolteacher in Arkansas before going on to serve nineteen years as a Psychiatric Supervisor at Patton State Hospital in Highland, California. Despite the demands of a full-time career, she was deeply involved in her children’s lives, serving as PTA President at Victoria Elementary and attending every classroom party and field trip. She was also a talented artist who turned her passion for Tole Painting into her own business, opening a shop where she taught and inspired others.
Above all else, Lwanda was devoted to her family. There will never be a better mother, grandmother or great grandma. Having her loved ones around her was the thing she valued most in this world. Her home was always the place everyone wanted to be—inviting, welcoming, and filled with love and laughter. Lwanda had a way of making every person in her life feel like the most important person in the room. Nanny or Grandma, as she was lovingly called, taught her grandchildren poker with their Halloween candy and she was their biggest fan at all their sporting events, concerts and school activities. She was famous across the US and internationally for her delicious Chocolate Chip Cookies that she loved making with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lwanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harley Campbell, on September 18, 1992, and by her parents, Arlie and Ethel Blevins, and all but one of her siblings.
She is survived by her son, Michael Campbell; her daughter, Marcella Miller; her treasured grandchildren; her loving great-grandchildren; her brother, AJ Blevins; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2026, 10:00 AM Montecito Memorial Park 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton, California 92324.
A Celebration of Life will follow the graveside service at Rui's Shanghai Bistro 405 West Stuart Ave., Redlands, CA 92374
The heart of our family.
