Evelyn Delphine Quinn was born October 22, 1926 in Belgrade, Minnesota, the daughter of Anton and Anna (Rausch) Diederich. She was baptized at St. Francis de Sales Catholic church in Belgrade, and confirmed into the Christian faith at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Murdock. She attended grade school at District #32 in Swift County, Kerkhoven and Murdock, completing the ninth grade. Evelyn was united in marriage to Raymond Guse on July 12, 1947. They were blessed with two children and 28 years of marriage. Ray passed away in 1975. Evelyn remarried on July 17, 1976 to Ed Quinn. He died in 1993. Evelyn lived most of her life in Murdock and De Graff, and was employed at the grocery store, the post office, the café, and Fingerhut in Benson. She was active in the Altar and Rosary Society and the Ladies Mission Group at St. Bridgets Catholic Church in DeGraff. Among the things she enjoyed were needle work, flower gardening and golfing. Evelyn was called from this life on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Meadow Lane Health Care Center in Benson. She attained the age of 84 years, and 5 months. Evelyn is survived by her daughter: Mary Lou (Lloyd) Pribbenow of Milbank, SD; daughter-in-law, Cindy Fester of Belgrade; three grandchildren: Tammy Fernholz, Ryan Guse, and Jamie Guse; six great grandchildren; a sister, Doris Sullivan of DeGraff; and a sister-in-law, Kathleen Diederich of Kerkhoven; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husbands: Raymond Guse and Ed Quinn; a son Doug Guse; a grandson, Scott Fernholz; her parents; her siblings: Coletta (Jack) Fischer, Leander (Margaret) Diederich, Arthur (Irene) Diederich, Margaret (Lloyd) Syverson, Cletus (Doris) Diederich, John Diederich, Genevieve (Harry) Berger; and a brother-in-law: Joseph Sullivan.
