Florence Bertha Augusta Reu was born on July 6, 1918, in Tara Township, Swift County, Minnesota the daughter of Carl and Augusta (Bartz) Erdman. She was called from this life on Friday, January 16th at the Golden Living Center-Meadow Lane Healthcare Center in Benson. She attained the age of 90 years, 6 months and 10 days. Florence grew up north of Holloway and was baptized and confirmed at Fairfield Trinity Lutheran Church. She attended school in District #80 North of Holloway through the 8th grade. On October 11, 1940, Florence was united in marriage to Harold Reu, at Fairfield Trinity Lutheran Church, by Pastor Gierke. Together Florence and Harold were able to share in 30 years of marriage. They farmed North of Holloway until Harold's death in 1970. Florence then moved to Benson where she worked at Meadow Lane Healthcare Center and the Benson High School as a cook for many years. Florence was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Benson and the Women's Guild. She enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening and traveling. Florence is survived by a brother: Wilbert (Deloris) Erdman of Benson, MN; three sisters-in-law: Alma Reu, Milda Reu and Amanda Thielke; and numerous nieces and nephews. Florence was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Augusta Erdman; her husband: Harold Reu in 1970; one sister-in-law; and four brothers- in-law.
