Frank was born in Brooklyn, New York to Ernest J. Basso and Catherine McCartin Basso.
He graduated from St. Dominic's High School, Oyster Bay, NY.
Frank and his wife Rita raised their family in Manorville, New York.
When Frank retired from trucking, they moved to Florida.
There he worked and retired from Brinks security where he worked until the age of 78!
In his younger years, Frank enjoyed bowling, baseball, golf and spending time with his family.
He also worked and played hard as a volunteer fireman and Chief for the Manorville Fire Department.
Later, he enjoyed traveling, especially to casinos, where he enjoyed gambling, shows and good food.
He also loved to cheer on his teams ~ the Tampa Bay Rays, Buccaneers and Lightning.
He was preceded to heaven by his wives, Rita and Mildred.
He is survived by his brother Jude, daughter JoAnn, son Bruce and grand-children Liz, Cate, James, Michael and Zuzanna.

Frank was a devoted husband, father, "Poppy" and friend.
