Gloria Jean (Hale) Wahr, age 80, of Muskegon, Michigan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

She was born on May 12, 1946, in Muskegon, MI to Stanley and Bonnie (Bunnell) Hale.

On July 9, 1965, she married Gerald Wahr and they shared 61 loving and wonderful years together.

In 1964, Gloria graduated from North Muskegon High School. Then earned a Bachelor of Sciences in Education from University of Detroit Mercy (72c) and later earned her masters in Christian Counseling and Ph.D. in Christian Education.

From an early age, Gloria exhibited a heart and passion for teaching which manifested in the 56 years of education as a teacher, principal, Head Start Director, and Christian Ed Director. Mission work was also a passion of Gloria’s. She organized numerous mission trips to the Caribbean Islands, Europe, Mexico, India, and the United States. These trips included serving vacation bible school to underprivileged children, building bunk beds on an Indian reservation, and building small houses in Mexico to name a few.

Anyone who knew Gloria knew that her faith was of utmost importance and she was a member at many churches over the years, including Forest Home Reformed Church, Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, First Baptist Church of Dallas, Sheridan Drive Baptist Church, Grace Baptist Church, Pine Castle Methodist Church, Northside Wesleyan Church, McGraft Memorial Congregational Church, and Northside Baptist Church.

Gloria will be forever remembered by her loving and devoted husband, Rev. Gerald Wahr; 4 children: Gina (Evan) Wahr Holcomb, Jayne (Daniel) Wahr Kritschgau, Gerald Dante Wahr, and Gregory Michael (Cheyenne) Wahr; 9 grandchildren: Averie Wahr, Xavier Wahr, Anderson Holcomb, Maddox Wahr, Nolan Kritschgau, Jax Wahr, Dante Wahr, Daniel Wahr, and Miia Wahr; brother, Stanley II (Judy) Hale; sister-in-law, Rhonda (Randy) Crawford; brother-in-law, Gordon VanDuinen; 5 nieces: Tami Hale, Patti Hale, Amanda Oblak, Amy Cameron, and Leiya Chronister; 5 nephews: John Crawford, Stanley Hale III, Nikolaus Crawford, Nathan VanDuinen, and Erik Crawford; and many cousins and other extended relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley & Bonnie Hale; brother, Steve Hale; sister-in-law, Marjorie Wahr; and niece, Jodi Hale.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held for Gloria at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Northside Baptist Church, 1301 N U.S. Hwy 41, Ruskin, Florida, 33570.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holt International, an adoption agency that Gloria and Gerald used.
