Gwendolyn Katherine Bartlett was born April 16, 1923 in Shakopee, Minnesota, the daughter of Alfred and Eleanore (Raduenz) Swanson. She was baptized in Marshall, MN and confirmed in Appleton, MN. She grew up in Appleton and graduated from Appleton High School with the Class of 1941. On September 13, 1959, Gwendolyn was united in marriage to Percy Bartlett at St. John's Catholic Church in Appleton. They were blessed with two sons. Gwen spent her time taking care of the home and raising the children. Among the things she enjoyed were reading, writing, baking, gardening, and helping on the farm. Gwen was called from this life on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Southview Manor in Benson. She attained the age of 86 years, 6 months and 2 days. Gwen is survived by her sons Greg (Kim) Bartlett of Danvers and Paul (Rebecca) Bartlett of Kearney, NE; two grandchildren: Alex Bartlett and Noah Bartlett; siblings: Elaine Gerber of Odessa and Darlene Blank of Beaver Creek; and other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, Percy in 1988; her parents, Alfred and Eleanore; siblings: Donald Swanson and Gloria Skauge.
