Harvey N. Rodahl was born September 21, 1918 in Swenoda Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the son of Ole E. and Martha (Anfinson) Rodahl. He was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at Swenoda Lutheran Church. Harvey grew up in Swenoda Township and graduated from Benson High School with the Class of 1938. He served his country in the United States Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. On June 1, 1941, Harvey was united in marriage to Marguerite Peterson at Rolling Forks Lutheran Church parsonage by Rev. J. Magnus Rohne. They were blessed with four children and 68 years of marriage. Harvey was a farmer and a plumber. In 1948, he started R & N Plumbing along with Herman Nauschultz. In 1952, he bought his partner out and it became a wholesale company. In 1971, the business became a family corporation and the name changed to R & N Supply. He retired in 1983. Among the things he enjoyed were extensive world travel, Lapidary (polishing rock) and making jewelry, hunting, fishing, and playing cards. Harvey was called from this life on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Glenwood Retirement Village in Glenwood, Minnesota. He attained the age of 91 years, 2 months and 1 day. Harvey is survived by his wife, Marguerite of Murdock; his children: H. Randall (Bonnie) Rodahl of Benson, Keith (Mary) Rodahl of Benson, Nadine (Glen) Strand of Murdock, and Carolyn (Warren) Holte of Glenwood; five grandchildren: Sheila Goff, Anthony Strand, Shawn Rodahl, Trevor Strand, and Chad Fischer; eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Vi (Ray) Fragodt of Willmar; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Ole and Martha; and two brothers in infancy.
