Hilda Pauline Meyer was born January 10, 1916 in Martin County, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank W. and Anna M. (Tietje) Eversman. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wilbert, Minnesota. Hilda grew up in Martin County and attended school through the eighth grade at St. Paul's Lutheran Church School. On March 17, 1932, Hilda was united in marriage to Edward F. Meyer at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Parsonage by Rev. Walther. They were blessed with 68 years of marriage and three children. The family farmed in Martin, Pope and Lac qui Parle counties, moving into Madison in 1968. Hilda worked at the Madison Lutheran Home as an LPN for over 25 years. They moved into Benson in 1985, and became members of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Among the things she enjoyed were sewing, crocheting, quilting, gardening, baking and playing cards. Hilda was called from this life on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Benson. She attained the age of 94 years, 8 months and 23 days. Hilda is survived by her sons: Arvin (Kathy) Meyer of Eden Prairie, Norman (Judy) Meyer of Sioux Falls, SD; her daughter, Pearl (Burdette) Kraft of Benson; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters: Caroline Varney of Silver Bay, Vera Urban of Blue Earth; and one sister-in-law, Esther Shockley of Eagan; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband Edward in 2000; her parents, Frank and Anna Eversman; two brothers: Harold and Arnold Eversman; and one sister Adelia Eversman.
