Visitation for Hugh Joseph Muehlberg, Jr., age 60, of Benson, will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Mueller Bies Funeral Home (7050 Lake Drive, Lino Lakes, MN) from 5-7 pm with a Memorial Service at 7 pm. Military burial will be at 10 am on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Hugh Joseph Muehlberg, Jr. was born April 09, 1951, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Hugh Joseph Sr. and Harriet Evelyn (Solle) Muehlberg. He was baptized in 1951 in Minneapolis. His family moved to Lexington, MN. He graduated from Centennial High School. On July 5, 1991, Hugh was united in marriage to Penny Bertek in Lexington, MN. Together they were able to share in more than 20 years of marriage. After marriage they moved to Apache Junction, Arizona. They moved to Benson, Minnesota, to retire and spend time with family and friends. Hugh enjoyed ice fishing, being a Vikings fan, cards, and "5 o'clock somewhere" socializing with friends and family he loved. He was called from this life on Monday, March 12, 2012. He attained the age of 60 years, 11 months, and 3 days. He is survived by his wife, Penny Lee Elizabeth Bertek; children, Tammy (Rick) Evans of Chandler, Arizona; Angela (Toby) Ellingson of Benson, Minnesota; Angelique Stallman of Frazee, Minnesota; and Hugh (Shannon) Muehlberg of Isanti, Minnesota; brother, Charles (Sharon) Muehlberg of Circle Pines, Minnesota; sister Charlene (Timothy) O'Neill of Circle Pines, Minnesota; ten grandchildren ¯ Christian, Ashley, Austin, Taylor, Shania, Skylure, Nicole, Nathan, Daniel and Dalton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Harriet; father-in-law, Lewjay Bertek; brother, Robert Muehlberg; and nephew Jeff Muehlberg.
