Obituary
Mr. James Albert Davis, 94, passed away January 1, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Davis was born April 23, 1917 in Anderson County SC to Miles and Pauline Davis. He attended Faith Community Baptist Church in East Bend.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Johnson Davis; and a grandson, Myles Davis. He is survived by five children, Sally (Joe) Abell, Bud (Anita) Davis, Paul (Valerie) Davis, Bob (Lisa) Davis, and Karen Chamberlain; a sister, Bobby Sue Meeks; a brother, Ray (Pauline) Davis; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 7:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Brian Poindexter and Rev. Don Ball officiating.
Local services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Wimauma Church of God. Interment will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church in Wimauma.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Myles Davis Music Scholarship Fund, in memory of James' grandson, payable to Cooper City Church of God, 9191 Stirling Rd. Cooper City, Fl. 33328.
