JURGENS, James A. "Jim", 87, passed away on December 4, 2014 at his home in Sun City Center with family at his side after a long illness.
Born September 12, 1927, in Pennsauken, New Jersey, he served in World War II followed by a long career in business retiring in 1991 from Jim Walter Corporation as Assistant Vice President-Budget and Planning.
A member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Jim also was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Past Patron of the Eastern Star.
He was predeceased by his father, John William Jurgens and mother Sarah Jurgens nee' Swarz, his brother John William Jurgens, his sister Esther Staats and his daughter Bethanne Pearce.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Eleanor Jurgens, his son J.A. Jurgens, his grandchildren Michael Jurgens, Amanda Dyer and Erica Jurgens, his brother Paul Jurgens, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Shriner's Children Hospital or the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Sun City Center.
