68 of Tallahassee soared in to the wild blue yonder Jan.8th.
He is survived by mother Mary Daughtery of Sun City Fl., sister Elaine Horton of Greensboro Fl., brother Carl Keel of Sun City Fl., former wife Mae Keel, daughter Ginny Worley, daughter June Lance, son James Keel Jr., son Douglas Keel all of Tallahssee Fl., niece Jeri-Lyn Murphy and nephew Chris Horton of Bristol Fl. and 11 grandchildren and 2 great-nephews.
James was born 1945 on US Naval Academy Base to CCM James W. Keel (deceased) and Mother Mary Keel.
James also grew up in Tallahassee where he was a 1964 Graduate of Leon high where he was a proud member of the Marching Red Coat Band.
In Dec. of 1966 he joined the United States Air Force where he installed the communication for Air Force One under President Jimmy Carter and received A letter from President Cater thanking him for doing so.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Leon High school Band in his honor.
A Memorial service will be held Jan.16th @1p.m. @ Gospel Light Baptist on Apalachee Pkwy. Family will receive vistors after the service.
