James (Jim) Edward Rose passed away peacefully on October 11th, 2021, at the age of 92.
Jim was born April 28th, 1929, in Wolf County, Kentucky and grew up in Lee City. He was raised by grandparents and surrounded by 5 aunts and 3 uncles and his cousins all living on the family farm. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War. After his service to our great country, this veteran returned home and shortly moved to Middletown, Ohio where he started his family. He soon became a craftsman for BD Morgan Construction Company. To escape the cold weather, he moved his family to Bradenton, Florida in 1971.
Jim was a long-time resident of Manatee County, FL. working in the construction trade industry for many years. He also worked in the Manatee County, FL Supervisor of Elections office and for himself as a carpenter.. He was considered by many to be a jack of all trades and a master craftsman.
At 92 years-young, Jim was still working for lifelong friend, Jeff Gilmore, owner of Alumatech Furniture Manufacturing. Jim was a hard-working man right up to his recent passing.
Jim was loved by many for his passion for living. He was the type of man one could look to for sound advice or a good joke and story. He was quick-witted and known for his sarcastic charm. He was forever young , celebrating his 39th birthday many times. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He always had a smile on his face and could always share an encouraging word with others.
Jim is survived by his loving daughter, Beth Zipperer and her husband Micheal Dean Zipperer of Parrish, FL. Kim Zipperer, step daughter living in Blairsville GA. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Tyler Noel Brown and family friend, Jeff Gilmore who shared a father and son relationship for many years. Jim is also survived by his niece, Deborah Walker of Sevierville, TN., along with many of his dear cousins still living in Ohio. He will be dearly missed by his extended family, Sybil Zipperer, Mikaylah Dwyer, and Jason and Erin Jones of Marysville, TN.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother, Lily Hogg, father, Edward Rose, brother, Woodrow Rose,stepson,Chuck Warrens, and niece Pamela Trentham.
Jim was a loving daddy, grandpa,brother, father-n-law, uncle,cousin,loving and loyal friend. He will be truly missed until we meet him again. May he never be forgotten and rest in the arms of our loving Lord and Savior.
Celebration of life services will be held at a later date, yet to be determined. A military service will also be held, date also yet to be determined.
