THOMPSON, James Vincent (Vince), 73, of Wimauma, FL, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012. He was born and raised in Tarpon Springs, FL. He graduated from Tarpon Springs High School , earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Tampa, and his Masters in Education from Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi. Vince dedicated his professional life to the Hillsborough County School System as a teacher, a coach, and an administrator. He was the principal of East Bay High School and Riverview High School. In 2001, he was honored when Riverview High School Stadium was named J. Vince Thompson Stadium . He was also active in St. John the Divine Episcopal Church. He served on various boards and committees and enjoyed teaching vacation bible school. Vince is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judy, his son Michael (Carlos), his daughters Niki (Mark), and Shelby (Mike), and his grandchildren Vince and Kelly. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and the many lives he influenced over the years. A memorial service will be held at St. John the Divine Episcopal Church, 1015 Del Webb E.
