John Robert Davenport Sr. (61), Lithia Fl. passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 6, 2021.
John is survived by his wife and love of his life of 30 years Margaret (Peggy), and their two sons John Robert Jr. (23) and Elisha (Eli) Henderson (21).
He is also survived by his siblings,

Carter Davenport (Beth), Greensboro NC;
Sister-in-law Susan Ramsour (Peter), Webb City MO;
Sister-in-law Barbara Houston (Doug), Bluffton SC;
Brother-in-law John Froman (Carol), Hilton Head SC;
Brother-in-law Christopher Froman (Deanna), Naples Fl;
Brother-in-law Thomas Froman (Katie), Milford OH;
And countless nieces and nephews.
Born on September 20, 1960, in Greensboro NC, John was the son of Preston (Pete) and Sybil Davenport (both deceased).
John graduated from Page HS, Greensboro, NC in 1978, and attended Hampden Sydney College and graduated from Guilford College with a BA in History in 1983.
John lived life to the fullest each and every day surrounded by family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who spent a week last year hiking the Appalachian Trail with Peggy. At Davenport's Daily Delights he was Peggy's right-hand man, and grill cook extraordinaire. He was known to relax competitively while watching his beloved Carolina Panthers and UNC Tarheels. He was wicked smart, never missing a question on Jeopardy. As noted on his 60th birthday party T-shirt, and by his FishHawk friends, John was everyone's "Fun Guy."

He loved animals since childhood, especially his Boxers. He never picked a favorite dog, but more recently Pug, Princess, and Tank topped his list.
John will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving husband, father, coach, and friend.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 12, 4pm at Grace Community United Methodist Church, 5708 Lithia Pinecrest Road, Lithia Fl. 33547. For those unable to attend, the funeral service will be livestreamed via www.mygraceumc.com . On Saturday, November 13, at 12 noon there will be a celebration of John's life at his favorite hole in the wall "The Beer Shed," 11222 Casa Loma Dr. Riverview Fl. 33569
