John DeWayne "Wayne" Klucas was born May 30, 1924 in Benson, Minnesota, the son of John G. and Regenia Elizabeth (Siegel) Klucas. He was baptized at the Rolling Forks Lutheran Church parsonage on August 5th, 1924, by Pastor H.H. Beito and confirmed into the Christian faith at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Benson on June 26th, 1946, by Pastor Erwin E. Vaudt. He grew up in Clontarf, Minnesota and attended school in Benson, graduating in 1942.On December 31, 1944 Wayne was united in marriage to Alice Joyce Giese by Pastor W.F. Walther at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Holloway, Minnesota. They were blessed with four children and more than 64 years of marriage.They lived in the Clontarf area their entire life. Wayne actively farmed from 1939 until 1961. He was the A.S.C.S. manager in Benson from 1961 thru 1984. He drove the school bus in Clontarf from 1951 to 1961. He served as a supervisor on the Clontarf Township Board and held various positions on church council. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club; Happy Hoofers Saddle Club and the Glacial Trails Travel Club.Among the things Wayne enjoyed were going to Arizona in the winter; riding horses; helping his sons on the farm and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Wayne is survived by his wife: Alice Klucas of Benson, MN; sons: William (Charlene) Klucas of Clontarf, MN and Jonathan (Carolyn) Klucas of Clontarf, MN; six grandchildren: Nathan (Amanda) Klucas, Emmett (Tami) Klucas, Dawn (Aaron) Johnson, Amanda (Chad) Ness, Margaret (Shawn) Solonski and Beth Deitchman; six great-grandchildren: Codi Payne, Samuel, Faith and Silas Klucas and Jacob and Gracie Ness; one sister: Jean Marie Rittenour of Glenwood, MN; several nieces, nephews and relatives.Wayne was preceded in death by his parents: John and Regenia Klucas; two sons: David and Douglas Klucas; two brothers: Melvin and Robert Klucas.
