Norman, John J., 90, of Sun City Center, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011, after a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease. He was born in Brighton, Mass. In 1921. He was a decorated veteran of World War II having fought in 5 battles and participated in 2 invasions with the 3rd Infantry Division. He graduated from Boston College Law School in 1951. He served in various capacities for the federal government until his appointment as a Federal Administrative Law Judge in 1971. He retired to Kings Point in 1987. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, American Contract Bridge League, and Cypress Green Golf Club. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Betty; their 5 children, Nancy Hudock, Patricia Norman, John Norman, Teresa Spicer and Judy Barto and 11 grandchildren, Bryan Hudock, Kathryn Nuss, Kelsey Buckingham, Breanna Norman, Jessica Spicer, Melissa Spicer, Joellen Spicer, Andrew Spicer, Luke Spicer, Jeremy Barto and Jillian Barto. He thanks the nurses at Palm Garden who cared for him at the end. A funeral service to honor his life will occur at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
