John Albin Peterson (January 9, 1933 - August 21, 2011)
John A. Peterson, was born in Woodbury Connecticut, on January 9, 1933. His parents were Carl and Marion Peterson of Woodbury. John served as a Volunteer Fireman for the Town of Woodbury, Hotchkissville Station, from the early 1950's until the late 1970's. He also provided snow removal services for the town of Woodbury. John and his family moved to Lehigh Acres Florida in 1978. He owned and operated a successful lawn maintenance business in Lehigh for over 2 decades. He lived in Lehigh until 2005 when he moved to Sebring, FL. John came to the Tampa Bay area in 2010. John is survived by his three sons, John A Peterson Jr. of Danbury, Ct., Daryl E. Peterson and wife Heather of Gibsonton, FL., and G. Drew Peterson and wife Nichole, U.S. Army, stationed in Germany, and by his grandchildren Brandon Peterson of Gibsonton, Justin Peterson of Germany, Kristin Peterson of Germany, Caylin Peterson of Germany, Chase Peterson of Gibsonton, and step grandchildren Kaitlyn and Brittany Ramsay of Gibsonton. John's wishes were to be cremated and buried with his parents in the Woodbury New North Cemetery. Zipperer's Funeral Home in Ruskin Florida is handling the cremation and the cremains will be transported with family to Connecticut. There will be a graveside gathering on Friday, September 2nd, at 2:00pm at the New North Woodbury Cemetery, Section 3, Row R. Please call Daryl Peterson at (813) 523-5436 for information.
