Obituary

Larry Dean Ziegler was born April 1, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of John and Loretta (Johnson) Ziegler. He grew up in Hopkins, MN and attended grade school at St. Joseph's, and graduated from Hopkins High School with the Class of 1960. Larry served his country in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966 on the USS Blue during the Vietnam War. Later, he attended Carlson Business School at the University of Minnesota. On May 6, 1967, Larry was united in marriage to Bonnie Jean Skottegard at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hopkins. This union was blessed with two children and 43 years of marriage. Larry lived and worked in Hopkins and Benson. He worked for Tyler in Benson for thirty-one years. Larry was a life member of the VFW and Ducks Unlimited. Among the things he enjoyed were golf, woodworking, hunting and fishing. Larry was called from this life on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at his home. He attained the age of 68 years, 2 months and 26 days. Larry is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of Benson; two daughters: Tracy (Brent) Haugen of Benson, MN and Terri (Eric) Kruschke of Cork, Ireland; five grandchildren: Kaytlyn Haugen, Hayley Haugen, Brayden Haugen, Megan Kruschke, and Nathan Kruschke; siblings: Gail (Jim) Sorenson, Judy Doble, Mary Lageson, Pam (Dave) Simmons, Jerry Ziegler, Dave Ziegler, and John Ziegler; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his grandparents; his parents; and a niece Missy Weigel.
