Obituary

Leo Melvin Anderson was born June 27, 1931, in Camp Lake Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the son of Edward Odin and Cora Mathilda Louise (Anderson) Anderson. He was baptized as an infant and confirmed into the Christian faith at St. Pauli Lutheran Church. Leo grew up in Camp Lake Township and attended school at District #13 through the eighth grade. Leo served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 ?? 54. When he returned home, he lived in Benson and worked at Anderson Ready-Mix, Grossman Plumbing and Heating, then Street Maintenance for the City of Benson. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Leo was called from this life on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Swift County Benson Hospital. He attained the age of 77 years, 10 months and 6 days. Leo is survived by his siblings: Arnold (Ruth) Anderson of Willmar, Eleanor (Palmer) Pederson of Benson, Ernest (Judy) Anderson of Glenwood, Rosella Anderson of Wayzata, and Corvin (Beverly) Anderson of Plymouth; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, Edward and Cora; a sister, Clarice Aasgaard, and brothers: Riley Anderson and Joseph Anderson.
