Leonard Walter Tiffany was born December 30, 1921, in Cherokee, Iowa, the son of Homer and Dorothy (Wade) Tiffany. He was baptized and confirmed in 1958 at the Congregational Church by Pastor Longley. He attended school in Clontarf, Danvers, and Benson. Leonard served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Lake City, MN. He attended night school to receive his high school diploma. Leonard served his country during World War II in the United States Army. On December 15, 1957, Leonard was united in marriage to Helen Conner at Milbank, South Dakota. This union was blessed with two sons and 52 years of marriage. Leonard was a truck driver and worked for Benson Bottling, West Central Coop, Northern Coop, Cenex Transportation Benson and South St. Paul. He was a past-commander of the VFW. Leonard was called from this life on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Golden Living Center in Benson. He attained the age of 88 years, 3 months and 18 days. Leonard is survived by his wife Helen of Benson; two sons: William Tiffany of Swift County Homes in Benson, and Patrick Tiffany of Minnetonka; two grandchildren: Zachary and Quincy Tiffany; three sisters: Joyce Weber of Watertown, SD, Loretta (Clarence) Becker of North Mankato, Minnetta Staton of Benson; two brothers: Delbert of Paynesville and Elmer of Montevideo; and other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his parents Homer and Dorothy; and three sisters: Margaret Sandmeyer, Florence Carter, and Tootsie Jean Tiffany in infancy.
