Lisa Renee Fowler was born on December 21st, 1965, in Queens, New York to a single mother, JoAnn Henderson. She has one beloved brother, Heath A. Rogers, Sr. She graduated from Jane Addams High School in the Bronx, New York in 1983. In 1986, she gave birth to her first child, Tiffany Danyel Lee with her High School Sweetheart, Lionel Maurice Lee.
She began her career as a Secretary and Administrative Assistant and eventually worked her way up the ranks to become a Financial Assistant and finally, a Senior Treasury Analyst. While in Florida, she held a finance position at Checkers. Her most recent employer was Bealls, Inc., where she was awarded as being a member of the "All-Star" Audit & Treasury Team in September 2015.
Lisa gave her life to Christ in 1991 and married the love of her life, Darrell Fowler. Together, they have two kids: Zoe Nykole Fowler and Sharik Amir Fowler. She was an active member of the churches she attended. She assisted with the choir at the Church of the Revelation in Bronx, New York. In 2005, she accomplished a life-long dream of relocating to Tampa, Florida with her husband Darrell, Zoe, and Sharik. Once they moved to Florida, Lisa joined Without Walls International Church in Tampa, Florida, and volunteered in the church's nursery with her daughter Zoe. The family later joined The Crossing Church in Ruskin, Florida.
Lisa obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Audrey Cohen College and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Strayer University. However, her life purpose was to inspire, empower, and transform women into what God wants them to be and where they truly want to be, both in their personal lives as well as their financial lives. Lisa called herself "Nia," which means "Purpose" in Swahili. Lisa used her life experience to get the following message out: "I AM WOMAN, HEAR ME ROAR. I AM WOMAN, SEE ME SOAR!"
Today, Tiffany, her eldest child is a Social Worker, Licensed Minister, Actress and Poet who resides in Petersburg, Virginia. Zoe is an avid reader and a graduate of The University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism. Sharik is in the 6th grade and is an avid sportsman. He plays soccer and baseball. Her husband, Darrell is an award-winning salesman for Volkswagen.
Lisa enjoyed going to the beach, having picnics, journaling, walking, and traveling. Her greatest joy in life was seeing people be victorious and successful during difficult circumstances. Her favorite scripture was Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. On Sunday, February 21, 2016, Lisa left this world to join her Heavenly Father after her faithful and fearless fight with cancer at the LifePath Hospice Center, where she was surrounded by the comfort of her husband and family.
Lisa, affectionately known by her children as "Mama Leis," was preceded in death by her Grandmother Ethel Lee Smalls, Grandfather Leonard Henderson, Mother JoAnn Henderson, Uncle Arnette Henderson, and Cousin Johnny Hogans.
Lisa leaves her Husband Darrell Fowler, Daughters Tiffany Lee and Zoe Nykole Fowler, and Son Sharik Amir Fowler; Brother Heath Rogers, Sr., Mother-In-Law Willie Staggers-Edge, Father-In-Law Ronald Fowler, Sisters-In-Law April Fowler and Monica Fowler Seeley (Kirk); Nieces Samaya Abdus-Salaam, Gabrielle Seeley; and Nephews Kirk Seeley Jr., Immanuel Rogers, and Heath Rogers Jr.; Aunts Denise, Bernadette and Sandra Henderson; Cousins John Policard, Jakeem Policard, Jelani Policard, Jemisha Henderson, Arnette Henderson, Jr., Marcus Henderson, Vermel Holmes-Jackson, Deidra Holmes, Latoya Middleton, Kimberly Green, Mary Ellen Payne, Patricia Ann Toomer, Lillian Linnen, and Keisha Hogans; her best friend Renee Clark and God Children Ronald Harrison, Jr., Keith Harrison, Nicole Harrison and Cherelle Jones and a host of friends and family.
